In the first half of 2018, namely, from January to June, the quantitative indicator of export of Ukrainian apples was 3.9 times higher than the figures of the same period in 2017. At the same time, export revenue increased in 5.3 times.

During this period, Ukraine exported 24 thousand tons of apples, which monetary equivalent is $8.2 million in revenue. While the revenue growth increased more sharply than the number of exported products, this is explained by the fact that the level price for apples also jumped in this period in Europe. Agrarians claim, this is one of the consequences of frosts in spring of 2017, and thereafter, reducing the level of apple yield.

The total export index for 2017/2018 amounted to more than 40 thousand tons, which is 3.2 times higher than the previous figures. Such data became the basis for the positive forecasts of experts in the agricultural sector for the 2018/2019 season – Ukraine is expected to export 100-140 thousand tons of apples.
